Relieve Knee Pain San Diego

Knee pain is a constant struggle and many of those who suffer wtih knee pain, know first hand out debilitating it can be to do things that they most enjoy.  And exercise can just be an outright nightmare!  Here at Blakel Chiropractic, we've seen our share of patients with some sort of knee pain and no 2 complaints are ever the same.  There are a wide array of actors to consider before seeing an orthopedic surgeon, and it all begins with pelvis and hip alignment.

Pelvic & Hip Alignment for Knee Pain

As mentioned before, lower extremity joint pain is much like the alignment of car tires.  If the alignment happens to be off there will be uneven and possibly enormous pressure on the hip, ankle, knee, and foot.  This can cause muscles to tighten and cause pain, eventually predisposing a patient to joint osteo-arthritis.  Also known as "degenerative joint disease".

Age is usually the blame for knee pain, but in fact, it often starts with smaller symptoms like knee pain.

See a Chiropractor Before You Have Pain

While many patients visit a chiropractor when they are already experiencing discomfort, when it comes to knee pain, it is best to see a chiropractor before a problem starts to become a larger issue.

Pelvic misalignment can happen a countless number of different ways:

A fall as a child
Falling as an adult
Sporting activities
Over training
Physical Trauma

Unfortunately, many people do suffer from knee pain issues, and the sooner they have their spines and overall body checked, including the pelvis, the greater the likelihood their body's shock absorbers will work as needed.

When Should You See an Orthopedic Surgeon for Knee Pain

While orthopedic surgeons are certainly skilled and well-educated in what they do, in our own personal opinion, chiropractic care is the best route to avoid any surgery if possible.

If the knee pain just becomes too unberable, the joints can lock up, or you'll hear or feel a constant popping or clicking sound in the knee.  It just may be time to see a medical physician.  With today's technology and body scans, they may be able to pinpoint a larger issue such as:

Torn Ligaments
Torn Meniscus – Cartilage
Broken Kneecap or Leg
A Baker’s Cyst or another soft tissue issue

It is my recommendation that a chiropractor is seen first, and hopefully with the realignment of your pelvis and spine your knee will be pain free in no time.
